Microsoft WiFi Miniport Adapter

Driver Support for Windows 7 and Windows 8

The Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter is a software component that allows a computer to create a virtual WiFi network. This can be useful for sharing an internet connection with other devices, or for creating a wireless network for gaming or other purposes.

The Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter is included with Windows 7 and Windows 8, but it may not be installed by default. To install the adapter, open the Device Manager and click on the "Network adapters" category. If the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter is not listed, click on the "Action" menu and select "Add legacy hardware".

In the "Add Hardware Wizard", select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)" and click on the "Next" button. Select "Network adapters" from the list of hardware types and click on the "Next" button.

Select "Microsoft" from the list of manufacturers and "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" from the list of models. Click on the "Next" button to install the adapter.

Once the adapter is installed, you can create a virtual WiFi network by opening the Network and Sharing Center and clicking on the "Set up a new connection or network" link. Select "Set up a wireless ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network" and follow the on-screen instructions.
